Bio:
Dr. Pardis Minuchehr is our visiting scholar in 2023-2024. She holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University in Comparative Literature and Middle Eastern Studies. She has taught Persian language, literature and film at various institutions in the United States including the University of Pennsylvania, George Washington University, the University of Virginia, and California State University Long Beach. She has also taught abroad at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, and as a Fulbright Scholar at the Free University of Berlin. Her research and publications focus on Iranian diaspora from the early twentieth century to the present, as well as on gender justice, postmodernism, world literature, decolonization and trauma in WWII. During the pandemic she curated the virtual Pendar Film Festival, which focused on women and the environment in Iran. She is currently producing movies on environmental issues and race.
